In recent months we have reported on fare increases in the suburbs to cover rising costs.  Now it’s the city’s turn.  The Star reports that the KCATA is proposing a 25 cent rise in base fare to $1.50. The factor driving the increase is a drop in revenue from the KCMO transit sales tax that funds most Metro bus operations.  Public hearings should be coming soon.
