KCATA considers stopping Downtown-KCI bus service

The KC Area Transportation Authority is considering a plan to drop direct bus service from Downtown to the KCI Airport. This mean that people traveling to the airport would have stop and transfer buses at Barry Road.  For folks coming from further south or east, it would mean making two or even three transfers to get to the airport.

And it’s not just the airport.  I-29 is a booming business corridor with many office parks, hotels, and service jobs filled by folks from the East Side and other distant neighborhoods starved for employment opportunities.  It is already challenging enough to access jobs in the Northland, and adding yet another bus transfer would make it even more difficult.

If you care about bus service to the airport for travelers and/or workers in the I-29 corridor, please attend the upcoming public meeting or send your comments to metro@kcata.org.
